ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Cardigan/Thrifted (Thanks, Mom!); Skirt & Shoes/Forever 21; T-Shirt/ASOS

I wore this outfit the other day to make a quick run around with Madeleine. We grabbed coffees and went back to my house to watch Bridesmaids and eat pizza.

Lately, I've really been into playing with different kinds of silhouettes that aren't necessarily mainstream to the plus-size girl world. Most of the time, you are supposed to really emphasize your figure so you don't "look like a lump." But I don't want to look hourglass-y all the time because that's so boring and that's not the only way to look good, right? So I didn't tuck my t-shirt into my skirt but I tied it on the side just below my natural waste for just a bit of shape and threw my new cardigan over the whole thing (PS it's my favorite).

Outfit: Dress Up

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Dress/ASOS; Shoes/Deena & Ozzy, Urban Outfitters

I wore this outfit to church the other day because ever since I saw this dress, I'd wanted it, and when I got it in the mail, I didn't know quite how or where to wear it. Church seemed like a good fit, though I'll probably wear it much more seeing as it is pretty much the whole entire outfit and I don't have to put much thought into what I wear with it.
These shoes. Gah, these shoes are glorious! These are also hard to pair up with things because of how cool they are. And by cool, I mean the colors in them are on the cooler spectrum of the color wheel. I decided, why not pair these together? I didn't want this dress to come off too old lady or too little girl and I want a little bit of eccentric in every outfit. These shoes were the perfect way to achieve that, I think.

In other news, I've not had the best week. Sunday, I ran out of power steering fluid (which, let's be honest here, raise your hand if you knew *that* existed) and spun out twice on a, thankfully, clear road. Then, yesterday I had a blow out in the middle of busy street out of nowhere. My tire looked like it had been ripped all the way out of my rim. And then today, I failed a hearing exam which could be the least of my worries, but I'm still taking it kind of hard. All of these things happening to me showed me again though how great of a support system I have and how many great people I have surrounding me to help out when they can.

What are you thankful for today?

xx

PS, I've gotten a lot of clothing/things lately and was thinking of filming a "haul" video. Would anyone be interested in that?

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Dress/Forever 21; Necklace/ElleDeeNOLA at theRiver Market

I exchanged a couple things at Forever 21 and came out with this dress along with some other things. I love the way it looks on me and I knew I wanted to wear it pretty quickly. I thought it was going to be cold so I layered some leggings underneath and some big chunky-heeled boots that I didn't get pictures of. I wanted maximum witchy vibes so I put my favorite necklace on top. I got it at the River Market in our town from an Etsy Seller and I'm in love with the colors.

I have so much to do before tomorrow (including my paper on Taylor Swift), so farewell!

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Dress & Cardigan/ASOS; Floral Bun Ring & Black Jeans/Forever 21; Kimchi Blue Ballet Flats/Urban Outfitters

I wore this today because I wanted to be comfortable but also cute. And warm.
I knew I wanted to wear the denim dress because of its comfort so I threw these black jeans on underneath to keep warm. I also decided to bring the ombre cardigan to school just in case it was cold (and I ended up wearing it all day). The flats have been attached to my feet lately because they're comfortable and simple. I thought the outfit needed a little extra so I put the floral band around the bun in my hair.

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Dress + Flats/ASOS

I'm starting to feel even more overwhelmed being in college because it feels like everything is moving so fast. I mean, I guess I'm just not used to taking mid-terms in October. Tomorrow I have my first ever big real college paper due and I'm feeling confident in that one even though it didn't take very long for the paper itself to come to me, I guess you could say. I feel like nowadays all I have to talk about is school because I never get to hang around my friends (I miss you, Madeleine ♥).

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
 Dress/ASOS

Good afternoon, folks (or night, you know)! I'm blogging here from the scene of the most tornado-strewn looking room in America. I decided to take a break from cleaning/organizing my room to take some pictures of a new dress in front of my brand new closet (that is actually on the back corner of my room now) that my dad helped me build (thank you, Mark, for helping to make these photos possible. I still have a long way to go but after moving junk around all day, I think I deserve a small break.

On to the dress... I got this from ASOS' regular sized line because (have you noticed?) their stuff tends to run extremely large-especially their smock dresses. Whenever it came in and I tried it on though, it was so short. I love the cut and the sleeves and the wash though so I don't want to send it back, but I'm still going back and forth on the decision. I'm 5 feet tall though, so I don't think this dress should be quite so short!

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Dress/ASOS; Boots/Stage
I just got this dress in the post yesterday, and it's a couple of sizes bigger than I'd normally buy from ASOS, but I wanted it so badly! Whenever I tried it on, I almost immediately threw it into the wash and it came out a lot better fitting. But it could use another go-round in the dryer as most of the smock dresses from ASOS do.

This is Raquel coming at you live from probably the busiest, most stressful weeks of my life. Ah, I'm so glad it's over! I still have so much to do over the weekend, but I'm so excited to get some sleep/rest (and to see my grandparents who are coming in from Texas for the day!) I hope all of you have a great weekend!

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Dress/Forever 21; Vest/JCPenney; Bag/Stage; Saddle Shoes/eBay

Today was my birthday, and I got a nice striped dress along with a denim button-down and a sparkly pink bible. I also have been up and at 'em way too long. Tomorrow, I'm going to get my septum pierced then for some retail therapy.

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Shorteralls/Thrifted + DIY; Clear Jelly Sandals/Forever 21; Floral Carpet Bag/ModCloth

I love wearing these shorteralls around because they're so easy and comfortable. I don't have to keep adjusting everything around when I'm walking (running) around campus. I woke up super early today to study and now I'm literally falling asleep but I have so much to do that's due tomorrow.

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Dress (worn as shirt)/ASOS; Wet Look Skirt/Forever 21

I've finished my first week of college, and I have such a long to do list now. Yay! Haha, two papers due actually on my birthday Tuesday. And a design project. Remind me why I go to college again? I bought this skirt yesterday after looking forever through all the racks and finally seeing it on the wall. Also yesterday, my mom got a haircut and one of the stylists there actually tried to talk me into a scene haircut because I 'need a cooler haircut.' and apparently a scene haircut would 'fit my personality.' I liked him though, haha! So I might go talk to him about I'm not scene and let him cut my hair. I'm hanging out with my cousins and some family now, so I'll smell you later!

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Dress + Boots/Thrifted; Collared Shirt/Forever 21

I've been shopping my own closet lately because I can't afford to keep buying new things every time I have that 'I have nothing to wear' moment. I love collared everything so I've layered a peplum top with a collar underneath a dress I got from the Goodwill a long while ago. This is an outfit I should definitely save for the winter (and until after I hem up this dress--I hate below the knee lengths!). I just realized that like the past 4/5 outfits have included a floral print. I CAN'T HELP I LOVE FLORAL.

In other news, I ran to my high school today and had them send my transcript over to the local university. I really hope they do it because I hate hounding people. I also went to the mall with my mom and we did some birthday shopping. Birthday shopping is like shopping for Christmas in my family because we are buying things for almost everyone in the family (with the exception of Julie). I also figured out what I want to do for that particular day and that really excites me. Of course it won't be anything big, but of course, me and Madeleine will be doing a birthday photoshoot!

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Dress/ASOS; Boots/Stage

This dress is one of my favorites and the boots are so comfortable that I literally try to make outfits around them. This outfit is one on heavy-rotation because it's just kind of lazy but pretty at the same time. Not to mention it's a cool outfit since the dress is a thin cotton. Only thing is that it's so, so big on me even after having it and washing/drying it for a few months. I hope it keeps shrinking because I love it so much that I just want it to fit perfectly! If you can't tell, my hair is indeed a different color! It's a mixture of salmon-y pink and lilac. What do you think? I'm getting tired of taking pictures in my room because my tripod is weird and I always have to crop my pictures to make them straight, agh. Hopefully sometime soon someone will help me take a few outfit photos.

Last Monday, I got fired from my job of seven days. I was so super upset because, honestly, what kind of idiot gets fired after seven days? I just wasn't learning fast enough after working two days a week and having five off with almost no training. I'm over it now though because A) one of my good friends brought over a bunch of junk and we had an overly-sugared sleepover and B) the job was really taking its toll on my self-esteem because I felt like I wasn't making things good enough even if I had just started. After a bad week last week, I'm hoping I can have a better one this week (EVEN THOUGH MADELEINE IS SO FAR AWAY NOW). And my mom, dad, baby brother, and I are making a quick beach trip to Florida on Saturday AND I CAN'T WAIT.

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
most items are from Goodwill; the dress is from Forever 21

I wore this on the Fourth of July at my grandma's house. We bought sparklers and ran around with them in the driveway that night. I took a few artsy looking pictures from that night which I think I'll post soon. I'm really tired and had the worst day yesterday, so I'll post more tomorrow.

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Floral Dress/ASOS; Boots (similar)/Goodwill

My parents are heading off to Florida, (Note to them: Don't do anything I wouldn't do & be back in your hotel by nine, kids!) so me and my little brother Colin are going to stay with my grandma until they get back. I'm bringing my tripod and camera bag with the plan to do some outfit photos for the rest of this week. I'm also planning to read and write out some post ideas. What would you guys like to see?

I really like these photos of me (my hair is actually wet in them, so I think they turned out well in spite of that, too). I really like how I'm getting that dreamy vibe out of them. How do you like them?

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
American Flag Jacket + Chunky Black Boots/Thrifted; Floral Dress/ASOS (sold out)

Today I worked in the decorating room the whole time at work and I successfully made a Browning logo and 12 little Nemos! By succesful, I mean that they're all going on things being sold, which is great since last week I couldn't make anything good enough to go on an actual cake! I'm super proud of myself!

The outfit is not one I was wearing today, but it's one I would wear later in the year with black tights, so technically I was just playing dress-up. The boots are the first thing I pulled out whenever me and my mom were in the Ruston Goodwill and normally boots don't fit around my ankles or calves until they're a size and a half or so up, but these miraculously fit! I keep walking around in them because there is a chunky heel/sole that makes me almost as tall as Madeleine. And by almost as tall, I mean like I'm only a head shorter, haha! These boots have temporarily quelled down my want for Coltranes. Not really. I will never not want those boots, lol!

The American Flag jacket was also at the Goodwill and I almost walked out without it but I decided to check out the jacket rack. I saw a cute green jacket but I passed it up when I saw the American Flag pattern! I was pleasantly surprised that it also zipped up (but let's face it--I would've bought it anyway). I feel like the American Flag pattern is becoming my weakness... What's your fashion weekness?
