Lucy + Her Hair

Okay, so let me just start this post out by informing you of my hair tragedy.
Last year, around this time of year actually, I decided to go blonde--as in almost white, Marilyn Monroe blonde. I loved it. It was the first time I ever bleached my hair, and while my hair wasn't exactly healthy, it was definitely not fried. When my roots started coming in, I had the same girl who bleached my hair do my roots. She was a professional. She bleached my hair all over again. Ladies and gentlemen, never bleach bleached hair. Looking back, I don't know why she bleached my hair again when I just wanted my roots done, but she did. My hair was fried, not so fried that it was falling out, but fried enough that I could go a week without washing my hair and it would still not get the slightest bit oily. That was when my journey to healthy hair began. After my hair grew just the slightest bit, I went to get it cut. My hair was pretty short and I didn't want to look like a boy, so the (different) hairdresser and I decided to take it slowly. She said when my roots were unbearable to color it because the color would help it get healthier. I did color it after a while, but it was still really fried, and I just could not take it. It was so gross. My cousin is in beauty school, so I asked her to come over to cut it off. When she refused to cut my hair as short as I wanted it, I took the matter into my own hands. I felt around my hair and started trimming off fried ends.
I don't recommend anyone do this--I looked horrible, but my hair felt so much better with 75% of the dry ends off (I couldn't cut most of my top layers because I would have ended up with bald spots).
Slowly but surely, my hair is getting healthier. There are still a few bits of dry ends that we cannot yet cut off, but, hey, we're getting closer. I'm trying really hard to get my hair back to health, because (I know, I know) I want to bleach my hair and color it lilac. Considering my horror story, you all should be shaking your heads.
But I'm waiting until my hair is healthy and a little longer until I do this because I don't want to go through hair rehab again
Today, I went to Wally World with my dad, and I was searching for a conditioning treatment. I'm really into natural products, so when I saw Henna 'n' Placenta, I was intrigued. I picked up the small package and it was a deep conditioning mask!
Folks, I cannot stress enough that I have tried every professional deep conditioning conditioner and mask, and they were all pretty expensive. One was about $30 for a teensy bottle. This stuff, I kid you not, was like 50 cents. 50 cents. I figured, it's worth a shot.
I take it home, shampoo and towel dry my hair mildly, and open the package. The first thing I noticed was that oh my goodness, this stuff smells incredible. I mean, I'm thinking of buying a couple of boxes and putting this stuff on my hair weekly, or even daily, just to smell it. Anyways, it wasn't specified how long to leave this stuff on exactly, but I figured since its a mask and all, I should probably leave it on my hair for a little while. I washed it out after about twenty minutes, and my hair was so soft. I definitely recommend it if you have an extra 50 cents available in your budget (haha).
