Recent Shots: Shreveport

Monday afternoon after my job audition, Miss Hannah and I took a mini-road trip to Shreveport. I had a lot of fun walking around at the mall over there (even though it was so humid and hot!) and after all the stores starting closing, me and Hannah got a couple of movie tickets to see After Earth in the IMAX theater. It was so great! We even got our pictures taken in their little photobooth and Hannah got a psychadelic jaw breaker!

We ended up getting back so late that I just stayed over at Hannah's, and the next morning I woke up with a job! I was so excited! I start Monday. And come to find out that my family is actually going back to Shreveport on Saturday to stay for a few days! I'm really excited about the water park but I'm mostly excited to go somewhere with air conditioning, haha. You think I'm joking, but it's one-thousand degrees.

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Dress (similar)/Forever 21; Vest/JCPenney; Purse/Secondhand; Shoes/

I have good news! Last Tuesday, I applied to a local, family-owned bakery to be a cake decorator that works with fondant and the very next day, I got a call saying to come in Monday at two for an audition! From what I've learned from a friend of a friend who works there, it's a pretty laid-back working environment as far as dress code so I don't necessarily need to wear pants and a button-up. As a matter of fact, the owner wants someone really artistic so I wanted to wear an outfit that showed off my creative side.

I felt like I needed something new, so me and Madeleine went shopping on Friday afternoon/night where I bought a couple things I had been wanting, including this dress and vest (I'm planning to do a June Haul post at the end of the month if you want to know about the rest of the stuff I got). The vest I'm wearing is a large and had ties on it that I cut off because they were at a weird level (like on the model on the website--what is up with the mid-boob ties?), but it fits pretty well. I told Madeleine I thought it would feel strange if I had been able to get my actual size. The dress is a 2X. Normally I wear a bigger size in dresses from Forever 21, but this fabric made it alright for me to size down. In fact, I should've sized down on the blue dress from one of my last outfits. This outfit has the perfect mixture of bohemian and polished that I've been searching for. I feel like it's perfect for this particular job audition.

Wish me luck!

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Lace Tunic + Camo Shorts/Forever 21; Docs/Secondhand

Just a quick outfit for the day! These camouflage shorts are actually a size down but they're really stretchy, so if you're in the market and can't find your size, sizing down shouldn't hurt!
I'm about to go stay the night with my cousin Madeline, so I'll just catch you on the flip. <3

PS. Shorts are a hard thing to wear, right? Especially if you're self-conscious with your legs/thighs. I'd like to give you some advice though. I know it's not as simple as it sounds, but as soon as I put out of my mind what I think people are thinking of me, I feel fine and I forget that I was feeling self-conscious at all. As long as you feel comfortable (and confident) in what you wear, there shouldn't be a problem. Love you~

 ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Dress/Forever 21; Wedges/Payless; Bag/Secondhand

This dress is such a pretty blue that I couldn't pass it up! It's a smidge too big, but I know it will shrink once dried. And I saw these wedges in Payless and felt like I needed them, so I bought them back in August with some birthday money. So far I've only walked around my house in them, haha! I just thought they wouldn't be the best idea to walk around my huge high school campus in.

Speaking of. We haven't seen each other since before I graduated (which I did, woot woot!) or since I ombred my hair the right after graduation. Although, you can't really tell in these pictures. Whatever though, because I'm going to lighten it some more in this next week. I plan to have a clean room by the end of this week. In other news, I don't know if you can tell by these pictures, but I'm super-sick. Every single year, summer starts and I get sick. It's horrible. I've decided to truck on through this cold and try to get a job today. What are your plans?

Recent Shots: Jackson Trip

What started out as an innocent trip to Jackson turned into a heinous search for the Free People. Of course, once we found it, we all swooned as we looked around inside. I'll be waiting for the day they start a plus size line (obviously I'll be the model because I'm super-gorg).

That was sort of a joke, haha! We all had such fun, and, of course, nobody in Jackson will know what my face looks like if it's ever a question because I snapped pictures every chance I got.

This is an image-heavy post but to make up for it, I'll put any links I can find to go along with the images!
