Inspiration

Just a quick Tumblr Inspiration post (I didn't even feel like going through and changing all the sizes to match my blog layout, so I hope no one particularly minds that), but see you soon for an outfit post!

Weekly Inspirations

1/2/3/4/5/6

Once again, sorry for the silence. I don't want to guarantee outfits or comics this week just because I seriously haven't been home at all. I came home yesterday from house-sitting with Madeleine just so I could sign for my new camera! I got it and took a billion pictures. I will be posting some Recents later on today, so you can be looking forward to that! Tomorrow we head out for Jackson and I absolutely cannot wait! You can be looking forward to those Recents next Friday! I was actually thinking of maybe doing a Monthly Haul? I don't know yet, but we shall see! I hope  you enjoy this week's inspiration.

xx

I love Amy Scheeper's photography. I look at her blog daily (and I can keep looking for hours even if I've seen every single post).

I cried I laughed so hard when I watched this video

Weekly Inspirations

1/2/3/4

So I've decided to start up a schedule for my blog really just so I'll hold myself accountable to posting. I know most bloggers stick to blogging during the week and then not usually on the weekends, but I am usually incredibly swamped during the week. I really cannot come up with a nice post if I'm totally tired! haha, so now I'm only going to be blogging on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Fridays are for Inspirations + Recent Shots if I have any, Saturdays are going to be strictly outfit days (which I'll be catching up on soon, sorry!), and Sundays will be for a new feature that you'll just have to wait to see then! :D Also, there will be a scheduled post for the days after the ends of months, even if it's not on the weekends, so you can look forward to that if  you're into it! I really do hope this new schedule for myself will keep me doing this blog, because I really do love to document life and people and such. I just sometimes love my pictures or what I did so much that I'll just throw a post up, and I would really like my posts to at least seem more thought out.

These Inspirations are really going to be a modge podge of things I've seen that week that I just love. I get inspired by so many different things from clothes to articles to photographs or even drawing that I did. I hope you guys will like these (cause it takes a lot to compile all this stuff!).

I think this post is super-great! mostly because I've never heard of anyone going around and picking up trash on a beach to take pictures of it. I love it! It really does look pretty kitschy.

I love flowers, so naturally I love this painting

I love The Big Book of Cats, but this one is one of my favorites to date.

This picture is beautiful.

I also really enjoyed this article this week. I pretty much was crying, doubled-over, hiccupping in laughter while I was reading it!

I hope everyone had a good and is having a good Friday! What are things that inspire you?

Inspiration: Helen Anderson

All images taken from her tumblr
Meet Helen Anderson. If you haven't watched any of her YouTube videos, I severely recommend it. Not only does Helen have killer style, but she also has this incredibly infectious smile. The very first video I ever watched of hers was her advice video on how to color your hair lilac (I was researching). The video was super helpful, and when I watched it, I felt like she knew what she was talking about and like she wasn't just trying to sell some product or something (I don't think she's sponsored anyway, but sometimes people come across as overly salesman like, you know?). Usually, I'm not even into vlogs. I just get bored pretty easily of listening and not being able to talk back, but Helen is super interesting (and she has this awesome accent because she's from England and they have super posh accents). If you're into seeing what someone's into buying, seeing some advice about things like stretching your ears, or really interesting life updates, then you should check out her channel.

PS, if you weren't sold (which I believe you were), Helen even has this amazing singing voice. Her band, Box of Light, is on YouTube as well.

Inspiration: Marina + the Diamonds

Marina + the Diamonds. Sigh. Why can't I just be her? I've posted my favorite song by her, Buy The Stars, below, so you can listen to it without having to click away. In addition to her beautiful voice and inspiring lyrics, she has the one of the best looks that I've seen. I mean, her hair and her pastel clothes. Let me have your closet. She reminds me of the glorious sixties. If you listen to a couple of her songs on YouTube and you like them, you can buy her album, Electra Heart, here. I really want to see her in concert, but the nearest concert is in Missouri.... I hope she reads this and decides to come to Louisiana.

Lucy's Inspiration

Lately, I've been so inspired to make art. Of course, I do not want to divulge too much into exactly what I'm doing, but I'm sure you will be seeing more soon.
Anyways, the Disney princesses have always inspired me. If you asked me to pick a favorite twice (by the way, I have--it's Snow White, but that's more because she and I look alike-ish), the answer would probably change. I'm working on a big project that may help make a dent into me and Ashley's Washington fund (YAYY!). I have always seen posts in different places about the Disney princesses give false hope and high expectations, blah, blah.. I don't think that is so. I think they teach the mantra follow your heart.
Each of these princesses is strong in her own way and each achieved her dream. This is so important to me because a lot of the time my family and friends have said harsh things about me wanting to follow my dreams that take me far away from home and might not make a lot of money. I thought about making sacrifices (like my dreams) in order to make other people happy, but I just don't think I can keep that up in the long run. I'd end up bitter and resentful because I let others hold me back.
One day, I channeled my inner Disney princess and just told everyone like it was--I am going to Washington to live in a small, probably cramped and crappy, apartment with my best friend as a roommate and two cats to be a waitress or maid or something until I can successfully work my way through some sort of art program. I said that I'm sorry, but I feel horrible for the animals being dissected in biology class, I almost failed chemistry, and physics, while it's a lot easier than chemistry, and I'd love to tell Mrs. Duke (my favorite teacher, no hands down) that I aspire to be a rocket scientist because I know it would really make her heart sparkle, I'm just not meant to go into a field that makes buckets of cash (stereotypically). I will be what I want to be, and that's just the way it is.
